Planning your visit
-
There are no specific opening hours, and admittance is by booking/appointment only, we’re not open to the general public.
-
We offer free on-site parking for cars, mini-buses and coaches. We do not yet have dedicated cycle parking, however we lots of trees you can lock your bike to! The nearest train stations are Formby and Freshfield, approximately a 6-minute drive from the woodland.
-
We recommend checking the weather before your visit and wearing suitable clothing. Layering clothes is a good idea, to prevent getting too cold or hot. Long trousers or leggings are recommended rather than shorts, to prevent nettle stings and insect bites in warm weather. Given the British weather, waterproofs are essential, as we have no indoor facility. Suncream and insect repellent are also recommended. Please read the Government’s tick awareness guidance here.
-
We are a fully outdoor facility. We have an on-site composting toilet and provide hand-sanitiser to maintain hygiene. We have no designated baby change facilities.
-
We do not have running water on site or refreshments available to purchase. Please bring sufficient drinks and snacks with you, unless included within your booked activity.
-
Our aim is that Laurel’s Wood is a space which is accessible for all. We are continuously working to improve accessibility, but we still have work to do. If you have specific needs, please contact us before your visit.
