Backcountry Survival

We’re proud to be working in partnership with Backcountry Survival — one of the UK’s leading bushcraft and survival training providers.

For the first time, their expert instructors are delivering courses outside of Scotland, and we’re incredibly proud to be hosting them here at Laurel’s Wood.

These courses focus on developing real, practical outdoor skills in a supportive woodland setting — whether you’re starting out or looking to build on existing experience.

For bookings and available dates please visit the Backcountry Survival website.

Forest School Leader Training

Our Forest School Leader training takes place here in the woodland, giving you the opportunity to learn in the same environment you’ll go on to lead in.

You’ll develop the skills, confidence and understanding needed to deliver outdoor sessions yourself — whether in a school setting or as part of a wider career in outdoor learning.

Alongside the formal training, you’ll gain insight into how sessions are delivered at Laurel’s Wood, with a focus on creating calm, engaging and meaningful experiences for children.

You’ll also have the opportunity to gain real, hands-on experience by supporting and delivering sessions at Laurel’s Wood — helping you build the confidence and practical experience needed to lead your own.
